Quick reflections on some challenges: 1. Divisions within the religion - Sects and sub sects leading to frictions, tensions over petty issues and seeking control. This leads to diverting our energies from the larger causes espoused by the religion. 2. Increasing loss of interest in the religion. 3. Our individual, family and societal conduct is not becoming of a Jain. 4. Becoming more of ritualistic. 5. Focusing more on building temples than spreading the religious values to non Jains 6. Shrinking population adhering to Jainism. In not so distant future, our demography faces the threat of becoming what Parsis are today in India. - Manish Jain,WhatsApp. 1. *No Desire to understand jainism* Modern people find reading holy scirpture a boring and useless work. They can't follow hard rules and regulations and feels like one who can't follow rules can't understand jainism. They feel those who do this will become saints or monks.
